I had forgotten how lovely it is to listen to good music & dance outside! It’s been 2 years since I last Dj’d outside in the sun at BoraBora in Ibiza. So last Saturday I was really happy when I was asked by my good friend Nacho to play at his first music festival he was organising in a small park beside the pub “The Landseer” that he manages in Holloway in London. He told me that there would be both bands & djs playing & it was a free event for the local community & what a day it was!

People were having a great day sitting in the park enjoying the music & having a drink with friends & kids flying around on their scooters. It was a great combination of local bands… Monkey Nuts, Stocker, Dirthole, Queen of Denial, Simon Sampson & The Holloways & Dj’s included Tony TNT, Shantai, Steven Crabtree, Damien Chicken (from Chicken Lips!) & Me! I played a mixture of funky house with a few rock bootlegs thrown in, which went down really well, I got half the park dancing & lots of head nodding & lots of toe tapping going on with this 3 year old baby girl showing them all how they should be dancing… so cute!!

It was so great to play outside again & to such a mixture of people that I wouldn’t normally get a chance to play to in a club, mammy’s & daddy’s, kids, rockers, geezers, crusties… you name it they were all enjoying it & that was so cool! It also reminded me what a great group of friends I have as everyone who was involved helping out at the festival was a friend of mine & Nacho’s… from the security to the litter people to the sound engineers to the backstage crew all helping together for free to give people in the community a nice peaceful & fun day out! London really needs more of this especially with what’s been happening here these last few weeks!

It was wicked & big RESPECT to Nacho for organising his 1st great music festival!

Well done & just one question… when’s the next one Nacho??
