Well that’s another year nearly over and hopefully we’re all another year wiser…

Dj wise for me 2006 has been a really great year with lots of adventures travelling & Djing all over the world, from Brazil to Ireland, Bulgaria to Tunisia, Algeria to UK, Morocco to France, Czech Republic & Slovakia!! I met some really great people & made lots of new friends & not forgetting all the amazing parties & wicked party people & promoters!

2006 got off to a good start when I rang in the New year in Tunisia and later in January I had a crazy adventure trying to get to Poland in a blizzard but it was all worth it as I played 2 wicked parties in Szczecin & especially the “This is UK Style” @ Club Intro in Wroclaw. I can’t wait to come back to Poland next year in March 2007!! Yeah!

A really exciting achievement & honour for me was becoming the first ever female Dj to play in Algeria! How cool is that! And Oran has become one of my favourite places to play… the people are soooo great!

Bulgaria has also been really special for me… the Invader parties have been amazing & as for the Bulgarian party people… well… I’m lost for words. Thanks so much… Can’t wait for 30 th Dec!!!

Brazil was a real eye opener… It was so great to play @ Evoxx in Sao Paulo & all the other parties & to get to hang with my friends Franky, Fabio & Livia. Apart from a few promoter problems overall Brazil was really good and I got to travel loads & see how beautiful the country really is.

There were loads of great UK parties, especially the 24hr techno marathons @ Dukes in London, and also Techno Sessions & my own Spiritualised parties, especially me & Terry’s annual joint Birthday party which was also my leaving London party. Top Night & big thanks to everyone who came along.

Another great night that has stuck in my mind was playing for Gulit @ the Volks club in Brighton. Really loads of fun & great crowd! plus the wicked Ultraplay @ Café 1001 in Brick Lane as I got to play a lot more underground electronic/acid/minimal stuff different to what I would usually play & the crowd were so open minded… I really loved it! Yeah!

Also playing for the first time in Czech Republic and Slovakia was cool & big thanks to Zygy, Iva & Boyda for all the laughs! It was a really fun weekend!

I was really happy for my good friend Nacho Nieto who started his own Record Label “Deporpatas”. 5 years ago me & Nacho made a promise that we would save up & buy Decks & start Djing & throwing parties & start making tunes & run a record label. It was all because of Nacho that I started Djing! …so now that he has made another part of his dream come true… well it’s really cool… so I plan to work really hard in 2007 to make this happen for me too.

All work & no play makes Clodagh a dull girl so I always make sure I go to a few festivals & have a good holiday to let my hair down & listen to come cool new music & Djs & be really inspired, so this year I went to the really excellent Monegros Festival held in a desert outside Barcelona. It’s really funny as last year I went to Dance Valley in Holland & man did it rain!!… 2 full days of cold, rain & muck! So this year I decided yeah… lets go party in a desert… it was the same weekend as Dance Valley and I was like haha! It’s never gonna rain in the desert… well it didn’t rain… it poured & thunder stormed with fork lightening & hurricane like winds… the worst storm in 100 years in that area!! But the festival was great & a good adventure dancing in a storm in a desert!! Then I went to the great HiFi Festival in the center on Ireland where it strangely enough didn’t rain & was nice & warm??!!

I also went to Ibiza for 5 days in September… music wise it was a bit disappointing this year except for Carl Cox’s night @ Space which was a proper havin it party night. But Ibiza still has it’s magic with its beaches & sunshine… ah I want to be there now!

So what else happened in 2006… a big change for me was leaving London & relocating back to Ireland. I am learning Ableton Live (thanks Raul!!)… it’s an amazing programme. I’m hooked on beatport.com, which has opened me up to lots of new fantastic music, therefore I’m playing a lot more cds. Techno wise I still play a lot of vinyl & still shop @ my favourite… Kinetec Records when I’m in London.

Myspace.com has been a very addictive curse but overall it’s wicked… fantastic to promote yourself, meet new people & make new friends. I am really delighted with my own website djclodagh.com, with huge hits from all over the world, November2006 being my busiest month yet with nearly 10,000 visits!! So I must be doing something right! ;)

No seriously a big huge thanks to everyone who visits this site & all the emails I get as it really helps me to keep going, working towards my dream, trying to make it happen. Thanks to all the promoters who work really hard putting on the parties & festivals and of course all the party people who come & dance! My friends & family are a constant support to me…

So that’s it… another year over… but I know 2007 is gonna be an even more exciting year… and remember dreams without actions are just dreams… so if you want something bad enough… make it happen!
